Volunteers from the Workplace Essential Skills (WES) Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry Program, from Kingsclear and Oromocto First Nations, New Brunswick, raised money and adapted toys for children at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax.
鈥淚 strongly believe cost should never be a barrier to anyone who needs AT. Our Edmonton MMC chapter hopes to raise awareness of AT needs and enhance the quality of life for people living with disabilities every day.鈥
We wanted to introduce you to three of Makers Making Change’s new chapters 鈥 the Open Access Resource Centre (OARC) in Winnipeg, Manitoba; EAST at Nettleton STEAM School in Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Nova Scotia Community College鈥檚 Disability Supports and Services program.

Naomi Beswick, a speech language pathologist in Edmonton, Alberta, was looking for a switch adapted toy for a child that she works with. A first-time requestor, perhaps it was fitting that two first-time volunteers answered the call.
