Youth Central Volunteers Help Us Hack the Holidays

November 21, 2024

Youth Central volunteers work on adapting toys at a recent build event.

Neil Squire’s program and have partnered up to teach youth STEM based skills and adapt toys for kids with disabilities as part of the campaign.

Youth Central is an organization that provides Calgary youth with volunteer and leadership opportunities.

In all, 33 Youth Central volunteers adapted switch-adapted 11 toys and built 12 switches at recent build events to be used by kids with disabilities. These toys will be donated to local families and clinicians.

Throughout our Hacking for the Holidays campaign, we’re looking to adapt and donate 2,000 toys and switches to families and clinicians across Canada. To do this, we need your help to raise $125,000 to spread the joy of play this holiday season. Every dollar counts — many battery-operated toys can be adapted with just $5 of parts, while $50 can cover the whole cost of a toy and switch.
