鈥淚 had almost no hearing in one ear, and limited hearing in my other, which made it difficult for my work, as well as safety,鈥 Gregory shares. 鈥淚 need to hear my dispatch throughout the day, and what each mill I go into tells me where to go, and what is going on.鈥
鈥淚 was provided with an ergonomic chair which adjusts to the right height for me at my work counter. It allows me to take sitting breaks, and offers back support. I was also provided with an adjustable rolling stool, so that I could access and organize books on the lower shelves easier.鈥
鈥淚 work long hours when I am teaching workshops,鈥 Linda says. 鈥淚 am much less stressed and fatigued when working with groups.鈥
Tania-Lynn has been taking courses to upgrade her skills and achieve her career goals, while also working in retail. However, she was having difficulties hearing during her studies and while working.
鈥淭he Assistive Technology Services program has positively impacted my life,鈥 Laura says. 鈥淭hese accommodations have significantly improved my ability to work collaboratively with my team and attend regular meetings. Without them, I would face communication barriers that could hinder my work.”
