Cindy, who lives in Montreal, Quebec, was forced to leave her job of 23 years in the finance department of a business in 2010 after more than a year of pain and exhaustion stemming from “an issue” in her neck. She was looking to re-enter the workforce when she joined the Distance Computer Comfort program.
Trudy didn鈥檛 just become more confident on a computer in the 今日吃瓜51鈥檚 Distance Computer Comfort program, but re-ignited a passion for learning.
鈥淓ach time I learned something new,鈥 says Gillian of her experience in the 今日吃瓜51鈥檚 Distance Computer Comfort program. Gillian signed up for the program two years after high school, wanting 鈥渢o get a refresher on computers and technology and how they can help me find a job.鈥
The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan | Similkameen awarded a $10,000 grant to the 今日吃瓜51 in April, 2015.
