Working Together participant RenitaLiving in Montreal Lake, Saskatchewan, Renita had learned about Neil Squire from an ad on social media. She decided to join the Working Together program to find work that suited her needs.

鈥淚 am a 43-year-old single mother of 5 and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when I was 24. It has impacted me to the point of not being able to stand much or use my hands a lot,鈥 she explains.

Renita was able to enhance her resume and cover letter drafting skills, as well as learn some basic computer skills. While working one on one with her Job Developer, Renita became familiar with targeting cover letters, interview preparation, and networking.

Originally, Renita鈥檚 plan was to move from Montreal Lake to Prince Albert to find more opportunities for work. However, nearing the end of the group program, Renita鈥檚 networking skills paid off when she found a job opportunity in her community.

She was able to use her personal connections to get in touch with the employer and earn a job as a receptionist for the employment and training centre at Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

Renita is confident that the computer skills she acquired throughout the program will help her in her new position and she reports that she is already a valued member of the office.
