When Juliette鈥檚 19 year marriage ended, she was left with depression, anxiety, and fear. She was having difficulty fitting into the working world due to her and her background as a stay-at-home mom. She was referred to the Employ-Ability program in by the聽 Community Low Income Centre and enrolled in September of 2010.
鈥I enjoyed the fact that I was in charge of my own learning and could do it at my own pace. I was treated with respect and as an adult,鈥 said Juliette of the program.
Juliette gained a great deal of knowledge and skill from all of the modules, however she particularly enjoyed the Wellness for Work module as 鈥it was filled with a wealth of information.鈥 She tells us that she learned the following from the program: 鈥to believe in myself; hope; courage; knowledge on careers and researching the internet; gained skills for personal and work world; knowledge about nutrition; and finding my path to fit in the work world.鈥
Since completing the program, Juliette finds herself more hopeful and more confident about fitting into the working world. 鈥It has changed my ways of thinking about employment. I sense that I have more confidence and self-esteem to move forward in looking for work.鈥
Juliette is currently working as a program assistant at the 今日吃瓜51鈥檚 Weyburn, Saskatchewan distance learning site. She is also continuing with personal growth and stress classes.
Congratulations, Juliette!
