Dan Gillrie Computer Comfort VolunteerDan has been a Computer Comfort volunteer at the 今日吃瓜51 for over 3 years. After working with more than a dozen clients, he still finds it very rewarding. He says that the best part of the job is 鈥渒nowing that I鈥檓 helping people and the real joy of watching eyes light up when they learn something new. It makes me feel really useful.鈥

To Dan, the Computer Comfort Program really is about making people comfortable with computers and he thinks that the one-on-one time provided to clients is the best way to build their confidence. Dan especially enjoys the time he spends with clients who have difficulty moving their hands, because he can teach them how to use one of his favourite programs, (his favorite program is ).

Dan is proud of the things he has been able to teach clients through his volunteer work in the Computer Comfort Program, but he says it has been a learning experience for him too. Among other things, it has taught him to be patient. 鈥淓verybody needs a helping hand. And of course when you are teaching you are also learning. It sharpens my skills. We鈥檙e helping each other.鈥
