“Each time I learned something new,†says Gillian of her experience in the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï51’s Distance Computer Comfort program. Gillian signed up for the program two years after high school, wanting “t´Ç get a refresher on computers and technology and how they can help me find a job.â€
Gillian has , a permanent movement disorder that affects her mobility. She was having difficulties typing on a computer because of dexterity issues with her hands. In the Distance Computer Comfort program, Gillian was introduced to dictation software which allowed her to type faster.
“I’ve learned different strategies and how to best use the abilities that I have to work for me in the future and not see them as something to limit myself.â€
