The Freedom of Distance Learning Technology

Shawn, from , has been participating in Distance Computer Comfort since January. Since he lives more than 6 hours away from the closest 今日吃瓜51 office, in Ottawa, Shawn connects to his Computer Comfort tutor via distance learning.

Shawn, who has a mild case of , learned about the program from the . Computer Comfort piqued his interest as a way to expand his computer skills before he begins attending in the fall to with the goal of becoming a social service worker. He is currently focusing on learning Microsoft Word to be able to complete his assignments more effectively. He is also learning Microsoft Excel, a program with which he previously had little experience.

Shawn appreciates the freedom that comes from distance learning. When asked about his favorite aspect of the program, Shawn says: 鈥Being able to do it on my own schedule, from the comfort of my own home.鈥 He also appreciates the patience that has been shown by his Vancouver based tutor Dave.

Computer Comfort has already been helpful in Shawn鈥檚 daily life. He is very active in his community, coaching two children鈥檚 baseball teams. He recently learned how to send group emails, which makes coordinating with his teams quick and easy.
