Employ-Ability Program Credited for Increase in Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence

Wendy, a highly intelligent with , had been out of the work force for nearly 20 years when she joined the Employ-Ability program in Vernon, BC.

½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï51 Staff worked closely with Wendy to polish her resume and identify potential employers while she focused on pursuing a career as a receptionist. She credits the program for greatly increasing her self-esteem and self-confidence. It helped her realize the wide variety of skills that she possessed.

Wendy is now gainfully employed part time, working two days a week as a medical office assistant. The fast-paced environment helps her day go by quickly, and Wendy feels she’s found “the perfect fit†for her disability needs and an engaging work environment.

While Wendy has met her employment goals, she is hoping to continue to help others around her find the courage to go on and access appropriate services. “I am proof that anyone can do it. If you get knocked down one hundred times, you need to get up one hundred and one times.â€
