Cranbrook Volunteers Make Over 60 Devices at YXC Makerspace Build

December 17, 2024

Volunteers build a switch at the Cranbrook build next to a window, which shows snow on the ground outside.

On November 23rd, 22 volunteers braved the snow for our first build event in Cranbrook, BC.

In all, the Cranbrook volunteers adapted and built over 60 devices, including 19 toys, 22 switches, and 22 battery interrupters.

The build event was hosted in partnership with the and the , with support from the via a StellerImpact grant.

Throughout our Hacking for the Holidays campaign, we’re looking to adapt and donate 2,000 toys and switches to families and clinicians across Canada. To do this, we need your help to raise $140,000 to spread the joy of play this holiday season. Every dollar counts — many battery-operated toys can be adapted with just $5 of parts, while $50 can cover the whole cost of a toy and switch.
