Riti was a Computer Comfort volunteer who came to us from India as an international student. She heard about the on while searching for a volunteer experience that would compliment the Diploma of Computer Science she is working on at in .
Of course, there were challenges. Riti found that her client had trouble retaining all she had learned from week to week. But Riti found a way around this by being patient and simply conducting a short recap of the previous week’s lesson. “It was very nice,” she says, “I had not done any volunteering, even in India, so this was my first time. My client was very eager to learn everything.” This volunteer experience has helped Riti on a personal level as well. “I have become more confident through teaching someone else”, she exclaims proudly.
Riti is now completing her 3rd year in the . She already completed a Bachelor of Science with honors in and is now looking for opportunities in either web or software design here in .
