The build was held in partnership with STEAM PEI, a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire young Islanders to pursue learning and careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math.
鈥淚t was a great way to get work experience. I would recommend the Working Together program to others who have disabilities and want help getting work experience.鈥
Lynda is an executive assistant and office manager at a non-profit in Vancouver. She has virus-caused progressive hearing loss in both ears.
鈥淎ll the things that you all do so easily was a challenge for me, and that goes back to my disabilities. [Even a] little thing for me is three times harder than for everybody else. I didn鈥檛 know anything 鈥 nothing 鈥 but to check my emails and go on the web.”
